"Hey Craig, so good to hear from you, man. Francesca and I are currently in the middle of writing you a thank you letter, but here's a quick summary.. you were the perfect choice for us! Your calm and collected persona, your extremely artistic eye, your experience and intuition for that 'perfect moment' and not to mention the beard and tats.. lol. Honestly from the beginning until the end you were unbelievable Craig. The pictures speak for themselves. you captured the most magical day of our lives flawlessly. Those pictures will keep the memories fresh for the rest of our lives. thank you doesn't cover it... much love"

Yesterday, finally the suspense was over... I am very sorry to admit that I had started to wonder whether the dream-like state that the monumental effort it took for you to drive non-stop through the night to make it to our wedding, had resulted in a sub-standard portfolio of images... Could I really be that un-photogenic that it would take so long to edit my photos...

However, yesterday evening I had the immense pleasure of reliving the emotion, anticipation, elation and amusement of the day through the eyes of my guests, through the eyes of a genius. Having followed your Instagram feed, to someone who loves a quote, here’s one for you: “Talent hits a target no one else can hit; Genius hits a target no one else can see”.

You are a genius.

Craig, you have managed to capture the beauty of moments that were very personal to me, your photos evoke so many of the specific emotions from the day that I felt. They take me back to this incredible moment that I have been desperate to capture, remember, stash away and preserve in my thoughts forever. To see Sam walk out from the chateau in that dress... To hear the beautiful words of my cousin in the intimate ceremony... To feel the whole party hanging on my speech... To totally lose myself in the love of everyone around me, completely fit to burst out of the happiness I felt for the futures to come with my new (and totally stunning) wife...

Aside of the enormous collective beard-envy from my mates, it is perhaps the biggest compliment to say that you weren’t really noticed, this wasn’t an in-your-face-oh-god-there-is-the-camera-put-on-a-smile experience. The results are stunning. Somehow you went about your business in the shadows, while at the same time absorbing the emotion that everyone was feeling around you – I kind of wish my whole life was documented like this, given I have an infamously patchy memory whenever booze has been involved, the blur of my twenties... Countless people have commented what a great guy the photographer was, how great it was to meet you, and I am sorry that I didn’t get the opportunity to give you a ‘thank you’ on the scale of which you deserved on the day, now with the benefit of hindsight, having had the chance to re-live it all through the gift of your shutter. I very much hope our paths cross in the future so that I can begin to try to.

No doubt Sammy will want to meet up and give you a massive hug, to let you know how grateful she is for being lucky to be able to remember our day in this way for ever more. But on a personal note I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am, as someone that dared question the cost of locking you in as our photographer, as someone who hates a “cheesy wedding shoot”. It was the best decision we could have made.

Please do look us up if you have any spare time in your ridiculous schedule and happen to find yourself in London. Perhaps when wedding season is over.

Thank you, really.

Kind Words

Choosing a photographer can be one of the most important decisions we make as a bride.

In the grand scheme of life, our wedding day is fleeting; and it’s the photos we turn to that bring us back to our most valued moments and truest emotions. It’s not often we are willing to express these emotions so profoundly. And for this reason choosing a photographer is a leap of faith – as you put complete trust in someone you’ve only just met, and allow that person to see your most vulnerable self.

Craig is one who accepts the opportunity with a full heart. He is gracious, thankful, and understanding of just how important this day is to you. Your nerves are set to ease upon the first click of his camera; and you know you’re in good hands. Being with Craig is like being in the presence of a friend. You feel comfortable and can sense his appreciation in playing a part in your love story. He is inspired by your love as if it’s the first of its kind. To him, you are his only bride.

But if this doesn’t already make Craig unique, it’s his photos that do. They are organic, genuine and unique. He is able to capture your purest feelings into a single frame; each as dreamy and rich as you remembered them. Only a true artist is able to tell these stories through a single frame. This is the work of Craig George. It’s an honour to have been in the presence of such an artist, and a gift I will forever cherish.

Josh pike.. a name that will live with me forever...

a maverick and a beautiful soul.

I drink coffee, a lot of coffee and when a new coffee house was recommended to me of course I did the obvious. walking in I was met with a smile and a welcome of the nice unusual kind, a warmth that immediately broke down any first hello barriers. - josh aired a calmness and joy of someone who's soul was completely at peace.

I wasn't wrong, - fast forward 8 months and I'm photographing him and his beautiful wife Beth' wedding on the gower peninsula surrounded by 250 of their closest friends and family.

This period of time has changed who I am - so i would like to openly say.

Dear Josh & Beth,

Well where to begin, so many words to say.

To be able to deliver these photographs to you is the highest respect I can bestow on you both, in gratitude for inviting me to document your day.

To say it was perfect in every way would be an understatement entirely, from the styling to the dress but most of all to the welcome I received from every last single person included.

Your friends and family are the highest testament to you as people and as a couple. It has truly been my honour and privilege, thank you from the bottom of my soul. Thank you.

I sincerely hope you love every single image, and more so I will cherish the day our friendship was forged as a result of your wedding.

All my love Craig xx

See the bride look at you with venerable hope!

It's 4am
having photographed my last full French wedding yesterday I'm unable to sleep out of sheer pain - my body is broken and a physiotherapist session is very much needed.

I've put everything I have emotionally and physically into this incredible season.

I've been sat on many an aeroplane wondering why I do it, why the 5am starts on "travel days", the constant tiredness upon waking up, the editing on the road to provide a satisfactory turn around time for beautifully understanding couples.

'you see' no matter how many times you've met with your couples before their wedding it's only when you arrive in the morning, and make that first eye contact with the bride that you get to see her look at you with vulnerable hope!

She knows, you know, the day is planted at your feet to do an amazing job of covering the day in a way that will re create the emotion she's feeling right then and there.

They're not fatigued, they haven't seen 65 weddings this year... It's their first one, their only one!

When I see that emotion in them, that first hello! It never ever fails to inspire me.
That's it.

For the next 12 hours or so, nothing else exists.
